I can honestly say that within the last two months, Crossfit has changed my life. I always thought that I was an “athlete” simply because I played sports throughout my life. After college I became sedentary and worked out occasionally but thought that I could just go on using my “athletic past” to sound like I was in shape. After going to a one hour Crossfit intro class, I was more than humbled. I was embarrassed; I couldn’t even make it through the warm up. That night I drove home thinking how far I had let myself go and how ashamed I felt. I was afraid to go back and felt that I couldn’t even show my face there again. However, there was something addictive, something that lit a fire in me that made me want to go back, do better, prove I could be faster and stronger. I can’t explain it, but I felt like I had to prove myself. Ever since then there’s been no looking back and no stopping me. I can’t get enough. I’m thoroughly addicted. In such a short amount of time not only have I lost inches and pounds, my energy level and confidence has grown. I’ve honestly never felt better; I am physically and mentally stronger with continued progress daily. The Crossfit community alone has been one of my favorite things. The coaches/trainers are amazing and I can’t thank them enough. They’re there by your side everyday pushing you to the extreme and supporting your journey throughout. The other members who you can’t help but be in direct competition with are the same people cheering you on and pulling for you to succeed. They see you at your weakest moments, when you are being pushed past what you thought was your breaking point and they are there accompanying you every step of the way. I can’t explain it any other way, Crossfit is addictive, motivating, and life changing. It’s something you have to experience for yourself, but within that first intro hour, I swear you’ll be hooked.

I have only been training at The Box for three weeks and I am addicted to it. The WODs not only challenge me physically, but mentally as well. I now find myself doing things in my 40’s I never dreamed of. I can do handstands, forward rolls and run sprints again. I am not the fastest guy in the gym (YET), but the community here supports me and encourages me. When I don’t think I have anything left, they help me dig deep and finish strong. The trainers are real athletes and often work along with us. There is a mutual respect here that you can’t describe, you need to do the work, live it, breathe it, and then you will understand it. I joined The Box to enhance my ability as a volunteer fire fighter. Now, because of Crossfit, I have no doubt in my capabilities when I am called upon to help rescue and serve.

I started CrossFit March 1st going into this as a “Hope for the best” and I can honestly say I have never felt better about my body. I always looked at working out as a waste of time and who really needs it. But one day I got up called to set up my free intro to crossfit and ever since then I have become addicted. Now for a kid that plays video games 24/7 and nothing else, I was surprised I made it this far and I am still going strong. I weighed 130lbs on a good day and now I weigh 140lbs for me to gain weight was impossible, but with my trainers showing me how to eat and workout the right way I have become this person that I never thought I could become. I appreciate everything they have done and I plan to stay with crossfit till the day I die.

CrossFit and The CrossFit Box have made a serious impact on my life. Before starting at “The Box” I was in the worst shape of my life. I was 50lbs overweight and was having a hard time keeping up with my kids. I had heard about CrossFit from a friend and decided to give it a shot. Well let me tell you, my first workout, The CrossFit Box’s baseline workout, was something I’ve never experienced in my life. After the 22 minutes it took me to finish, I was completely on my back for another 45. It was quite possibly the worst experience of my life. Nick would later tell me he thought I would never come back. But I came back and now 5 months later I have lost close to 50lbs and feel better physically as well as emotionally. Nick has been there every step of the way making sure my workouts are done correctly and with intensity. It’s been a great experience at The CrossFit Box and I am ready for more of The Box and of myself.
